Exactly one year ago, the youngest Lufthansa airline, Eurowings Discover, officially had its Flight operations started. This was carried out on July 24, 2022 from Frankfurt to Mombasa and Zanzibar.

Initially, the holiday airline only operated one flight per week. According to their own statements, there are now 158 weekly departures from Frankfurt and Munich. On the “first birthday” of the young Lufthansa subsidiary, there are 24 short, medium and long-haul flights.

The long-haul network now includes around 40 destinations in different countries. The in-house fleet currently consists of 17 machines. These are ten Airbus A330s and six A320s. According to a spokeswoman, the seventh medium-haul jet is to be flown in in the next few days. Next are Finnair (A350) and Air Baltic (A220) in wet lease for Eurowings Discover. There will be two Finnair A321s shortly also take on a wet lease.

According to its own information, Eurowings Discover has had around one million passengers on board so far. In the meantime, the workforce has grown to around 1.300 employees in the cockpit, cabin and administration areas. In Germany, the carrier offers flights from Munich and Frankfurt am Main, most of which go to holiday destinations.
