With “Eurowings Discover”, previously known under the working title “Ocean”, the Lufthansa Group is launching a new holiday airline on the market. But for the time being only from Frankfurt.

With this step, the AUA mother would like to promote the expansion of the tourist offer even in times of the Corona. No flights are planned from Munich Airport in the near future, initially the long-haul will only be served from Frankfurt. That reports the Time. The new flight operations already have a team of 350 employees on board and will start with three jets to overseas tourist destinations from June.

In addition, the crane airline is currently examining a conversion of the aircraft with regard to the seats offered in business class. Because these would only be booked sporadically due to the current situation, so Reisetopia.de. The group does not even rule out that demand could no longer reach the pre-crisis level in the long term. For this reason, Lufthansa could show the red card to at least part of the business class and reduce it by a few seats. Good news for economy travelers who may have more seats available in the near future.
