The airline Eurowings will offer a significantly expanded service from Berlin-Brandenburg in the 2023 summer flight schedule. In a way, they are also reacting to the reductions made by their competitor Easyjet.

“Our growth in Berlin is an example of the first smooth summer without travel restrictions and contact bans. Air traffic and tourism breathe a sigh of relief - finally vacation again, finally ITB again," says Eurowings CEO Jens Bischof before the start of the world's largest travel fair in the Berlin exhibition halls. "As Germany's largest holiday airline, we belong in the capital, because it is an absolute magnet for tourists and one of the most exciting metropolises in Europe. But we also bring a lot with us for the capital. Passengers from Berlin and Brandenburg can look forward to numerous new Eurowings destinations that are at the top of German holidaymakers’ wish lists.”

With a program expansion of almost 130 percent (measured by the number of seats offered), Eurowings is also reacting to the withdrawal of international competitors, who have withdrawn sharply from the German market in the course of the pandemic. Accordingly, Eurowings is expanding its leading position in the German market, doubling its commitment in the capital and will have six aircraft stationed at BER instead of the previous three.
