Eurowings is one of the very few European airlines to recruit crew members from the external labor market for the first time since the beginning of the corona pandemic. According to its own information, the holiday airline can offer around 250 flight attendants a new perspective.
With an increasing vaccination rate, falling infection numbers and the end of travel restrictions, the demand for flights is increasing significantly. Tourist destinations are currently in particularly high demand. In the course of this revival, the airline has already recruited 400 new crew members in the cockpit and cabin in the past few months in order to be able to carry out the planned summer flight program for 2021.
The positions were advertised internally within the Lufthansa Group. In this way, Eurowings was able to offer employees from the Lufthansa Group who are affected by job cuts new perspectives. The invitation to tender was also specifically aimed at crews from Germanwings GmbH, SunExpress Germany and LGW, whose flight operations could not be continued in the wake of the pandemic.
For the 2022 summer season, Eurowings is again assuming growth options for the first time that enable further needs-based settings. The Lufthansa subsidiary therefore started an application process on June 23rd to fill 250 additional positions in the Eurowings cabin. The announcement is made both internally and externally: It is again aimed at crew members of the Lufthansa Group who are threatened or affected by job loss. Applicants from the Lufthansa Group's flight operations are given preferential treatment in the selection process, with the best selection taking place as is customary in the industry.
