For the first time since the beginning of the corona pandemic, the Lufthansa subsidiary Eurowings will operate more than 400 flights per day during the Easter holidays. The range of holiday destinations has been greatly increased.

The carrier expects around 160.000 passengers on the first weekend of the school holidays. According to their own statements, they have taken appropriate precautions and are deploying more staff, especially at the check-in counters and at the boarding gates. The focus is particularly on the first departures of the day: Only if the so-called "first wave" starts on time can rotation delays during the course of the day be avoided. For this reason, particularly time-critical rotations were identified and prioritized, and the frequency of communication with the service providers was also increased. Eurowings also wants to have enough reserve aircraft ready.

Around 140 destinations are offered, with tourist destinations currently dominating. The Lufthansa subsidiary explains, among other things, that it should be the most comprehensive offer of all time. Among them are many new connections such as Hamburg-Chania or Larnaca-Salzburg. Palma de Mallorca is still the top destination – from April to October 2022, Eurowings will fly around 3,4 million passengers from 24 airports to Mallorca and back, offering more programs than ever before. From May 3rd, passengers will also be traveling non-stop from Memmingen to the popular holiday island for the first time.

Other new additions: Hamburg has been flying to Bilbao since April 4, 2022 and to Verona from April 15, 2022. Lisbon and Chania will be added at the end of the month. From Cologne/Bonn, Eurowings will fly to Edinburgh from April 8, 2022, to Larnaca from April 9, 2022 and to Tirana from April 10, 2022.

From Düsseldorf, passengers will once again be traveling by non-stop flight to the Balearic island of Menorca (from April 10.04) and to Kosice in Slovakia (from April 15.04). The French port city of Marseille is also back in the program (from April 15.04).

Other new destinations in the Eurowings route network: For the first time, there will be flights from Brussels to Pristina (since April 01.04st), from Nuremberg to Pristina (from April 10.04th) and from Salzburg to Larnaca (from April 09.04th). In addition, non-stop flights from Stuttgart to Croatian Dubrovnik (from April 09.04th) are again on offer.
