The airline Eurowings will be stationing three Airbus A1 aircraft at Berlin-Brandenburg Airport from April 2021, 320. At the same time, among other things, the frequencies of domestic German flights to Stuttgart, Cologne and Düsseldorf are to be expanded.

The Berlin strategy of Eurowings and Germanwings has so far been characterized by several moves. First you started in Tegel, then moved to Schönefeld and then partially back to Tegel. The Berlin base - operated by Germanwings - has been abandoned several times in the past. Now they want to know again at BER as Eurowings.

According to CEO Jens Bischof, the Lufthansa offshoot has carried out around 1.000 take-offs since BER opened. In February 2021, every third departure is said to have been a Eurowings flight. “Berlin is and will remain an absolute tourist magnet and culturally and historically one of the most exciting metropolises in Europe. So it is only logical that we, as Germany's No. 1 tourist airline, expand our presence in the capital by opening our own base. We are very pleased to be able to fly Berliners and Brandenburgers on their well-deserved vacation soon after the lockdown is over, ”said Bischof.

After the station opens in April, Eurowings will again connect the capital with Cologne, Düsseldorf and Stuttgart up to three times a day. In doing so, the airline is focusing in particular on the day off times that are popular with travelers. Eurowings has holiday destinations to Mallorca, the Canary Islands, Greece, Austria, Corsica, Croatia and Egypt in its program. Flights to Beirut are also new in the summer flight schedule.

Eurowings aircraft are preferably positioned at the north pier of the new capital city airport. Passengers should benefit from short distances, boarding without bus transfer and a direct building connection to the Lufthansa Lounge.
