The German airline Eurowings has achieved success in 2024 and plans to further expand its offering in summer 2025. With a clear focus on tourist destinations and strategic expansion into new markets, Eurowings is consolidating its position as Germany's leading holiday airline.

In 2024, Eurowings was able to continue its positive business development. The airline carried over 18 million passengers in the first nine months of the year and generated sales of 2,2 billion euros. This success is largely due to the strategic realignment after the Corona crisis, with an increased focus on tourist destinations.

Positioning itself as a "value airline" for Europe has also proven successful. By expanding its offering and concentrating on price-conscious customers, Eurowings was able to consolidate its market position. This strategy led to increased demand and contributed significantly to the positive business results.

Extended summer flight schedule 2025

Eurowings is planning a significant expansion of its flight offering for the summer of 2025. From the end of March to the end of October, a total of 412 routes to 142 destinations in 36 countries will be served. This expansion includes both new destinations and an increase in flight frequencies to existing destinations.

New destinations in the 2025 summer schedule include Ljubljana in Slovenia, Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Tbilisi in Georgia, Tromsø in Norway and Valencia in Spain. This expansion offers passengers an even greater choice of destinations and underlines Eurowings' efforts to continuously expand its route network.

Focus on tourist destinations and new markets

The expansion of the route network reflects Eurowings' strategy of focusing more on tourist destinations. By adding destinations such as Ljubljana, Seville and Warsaw, the airline is responding to the increasing demand for holiday destinations in Europe. This adjustment of the offer corresponds to current travel trends and the needs of customers.

In addition, Eurowings is opening up new markets by adding destinations such as Tbilisi and Tromsø. These destinations offer passengers the opportunity to discover lesser-known but still attractive travel destinations. With this strategy, the airline is diversifying its offering and appealing to a broader target group.

Increasing flight frequencies and new connections

In addition to introducing new destinations, Eurowings also plans to increase the frequency of flights to popular destinations. For example, connections to Málaga, Heraklion, Rhodes, Graz, Nice, Kos, Split, Yerevan and Erbil will be offered more frequently. These adjustments are intended to offer passengers more flexibility in planning their trips and further increase the airline's attractiveness.

A special highlight in the 2025 summer flight schedule is the addition of Porto as a new destination from Cologne/Bonn. From May 1, the Portuguese city will be served three times a week. This new connection expands the range of services available to travelers who want to discover Portugal and strengthens Eurowings' presence on the Iberian Peninsula.

Outlook and future developments

With the positive business development in 2024 and the extended summer flight schedule for 2025, Eurowings is optimistic about the future. The airline plans to further expand its position as Germany's leading holiday airline and continuously adapt its offering to the needs of its customers.

The strategic focus on tourist destinations and the development of new markets will continue in the coming years. By continuously expanding the route network and adapting the offer to current travel trends, Eurowings wants to strengthen its competitiveness and offer its customers a diverse and attractive range of flights.
