“Fries in the Skies” – Eurowings brings the snack back on board.

Passengers can now order fries on their Eurowings flights. A new manufacturing process from Dutch partner Foodcase International makes this possible: This process uses less fat than conventional French fries production. A patented, ovenable packaging ensures that the heat is distributed to all areas of the potato sticks. In this way, after about 20 minutes, a hot, crispy dish is created above the clouds, according to the Lufthansa subsidiary in a broadcast. A normal aircraft kitchen oven was not actually able to do this until now.

Fresh and light summer snacks are new on board Eurowings

The Lufthansa subsidiary is currently experiencing strong growth in demand for business and leisure travel. Many people want to be on the road again after two years of the pandemic - which is why popular summer sun and beach destinations such as Mallorca, the Greek islands or Portugal are currently particularly popular.

The carrier has adapted to this and, in addition to the fries, has made their entire culinary offer summer-ready to get you in the mood for the holiday: the wintery sandwiches have been replaced by lighter, summery versions, such as pretzel corn wedges with chicken breast and cranberries or bagels with Brie. Also new in the Bord range: a pre-mixed Negroni as a summery aperitif for all holiday lovers.
