Eva Air took delivery of its first brand new Boeing 11 Dreamliner with a redesigned Premium Economy cabin on February 2025, 787. The aircraft (B-17887) is equipped with a total of 28 Premium Economy seats arranged in a 2-3-2 configuration. The addition of these modern Dreamliners to its fleet is part of a broader strategy to offer passengers more comfort while renewing the existing fleet.
The Taiwanese aviation provider plans to operate a total of 30 Boeing 787 aircraft. This includes five Boeing 787-10s and nine Boeing 787-9s. In May 2023, the order was increased by four more Boeing 787-10 aircraft. With this investment, Eva Air is investing in a comprehensive modernization of its aircraft fleet, in particular to replace the older Boeing 777s. In addition, the airline ordered 18 Airbus A350-1000s last year to further increase its international competitiveness.
Eva Air was the first airline in the world to offer a Premium Economy class back in 1991, on its Boeing 747. Today, this cabin also includes the Boeing 777 fleet, which has had this class since its introduction in 2006. With the integration of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, Eva Air is strengthening its offering in the premium segment.
