A total of 17 commercial aircraft, which were previously in service with the Latam Airlines Group, are going under the hammer as part of a campaign. However, it is not a question of “scrap metal”, because young Boeing 787 Dreamliners and Airbus A350-900s are also being auctioned.

All 17 machines are owned by Skyworks Leasing. Due to the Chapter 11 proceedings in the United States, Latam was able to return the affected jets early. But that's a problem for the teacher: You don't have a new lessee. Therefore, one wants to sell the aircraft to the highest bidder.

According to Skyworks, interested parties can bid for the following machines on April 14, 2021:

  • 2x Airbus A350-900 (former registrations: PR-XTB, PR-XTA)
  • 4x Boeing 787-9 (former registrations: CC-BGH, CC-BGG, CC-BGF, CC-BGE)
  • 11 x Airbus A321-200

In principle, any interested person who can provide evidence of the necessary “change” and the associated securities can participate in the auction. The aircraft owner will also provide documentation upon request. People or companies who can substantiate a serious interest in buying also have the opportunity to arrange a viewing of the jets before the auction.
