Figlmüller opens “Café am Dom” in Vienna

In the heart of Vienna, just a stone's throw from St. Stephen's Cathedral, the Figlmüller Group ceremoniously opened its new "Café am Dom." The project combines traditional Viennese coffee house culture with Italian espresso culture. The opening on Thursday evening was given a special touch by a historic event: During the celebrations, the election of a new pope was announced, which was traditionally announced with the ringing of the Pummerin bell in the neighboring St. Stephen's Cathedral.

Hans and Thomas Figlmüller, managing directors of the Figlmüller Group, expressed their delight at the realization of their "passionate project." They emphasized their desire to create a place with the café that combines the Viennese soul with a Mediterranean lifestyle. At the opening, in addition to coffee specialties, antipasti, Wiener Schnitzel, and other delicacies were served, as well as specialty drinks and spritz, intended to represent a blend of Mediterranean lightness and Viennese classics.

A special moment was the blessing of the café by Cathedral Priest Toni Faber, who symbolically established the new establishment in Vienna's city life. Afterwards, guests had the opportunity to climb the south tower of St. Stephen's Cathedral and enjoy the view of the "Café am Dom" and the city. Among the numerous guests were prominent figures from culture, business, and politics, including Mayor Michael Ludwig. The "Café am Dom" is open daily from 9 a.m. to 23 p.m. and offers food throughout the day.
