The travel group Dertour was able to increase sales to 2023 billion euros in the 7,2 financial year. This meant an improvement of 24,6 percent compared to the previous period and even exceeded the value for 2019, which was 6,5 billion euros.

Dertour is the tourism division of the Rewe Group, which is mainly known for trading food and other goods. According to a statement from the group of companies, in 2023 they benefited greatly from the fact that demand for package holidays was very high. The fact that many potential customers did not ice cream in previous years due to the corona pandemic would definitely have played a role. Dertour was able to benefit from the pent-up demand.

It was found that package holidays are increasingly being booked again for various reasons. In all European markets in which the company operates, there is increased interest in more expensive trips. From this it can be deduced that holidaymakers certainly spend more money on their trips, but they also expect improved quality and more included services. The tourism group has responded to this trend and expanded its offering accordingly in the current 2024 financial year.

The travel division continues to be an important revenue generator for the Rewe Group, which was able to increase its revenue by around nine percent to 2023 billion euros in 92,3. Of this, 63,2 billion euros are attributable to activities in the Federal Republic of Germany. Here we were able to increase by 7,8 percent. The Rewe Group's Ebitda increased by 25,6 percent and is reported at 1,83 billion euros. The surplus increased by 46,2 percent to 736,2 million euros.
