The unions have called on the flying staff of the Belgian Lufthansa subsidiary Brussels Airlines to walk out. The strike is scheduled to take place from June 23 to 25, 2022.

It is not the only restriction that is coming to Belgian aviation in the coming week, because on June 20, 2022 the security staff at Brussels airport went on strike. The airport urges passengers who have tickets for that day to rebook for other dates. Many airlines have already canceled their Brussels flights scheduled for Monday.

At Brussels Airlines, pilots and flight attendants have been called on to walk out. According to the union, the reasons for this include the acute shortage of staff and allegedly high pressure on the employees. The strike date was probably not chosen by chance, because an important EU summit is taking place in Brussels at the same time. It is to be expected that one or the other head of government will switch to private or government jets.
