On December 15, 2024, FlixTrain will launch a new winter timetable that will not only allow travelers to travel comfortably during the Christmas holidays, but will also give them the opportunity to benefit from attractive ticket prices.

From now on, passengers can plan their journeys in good time and look forward to an expanded choice of routes. FlixTrain, known for its low prices and comfortable travel, has expanded its cooperation with the Deutschlandtarifverbund (DTV), which has significantly increased the range of services on offer.

expansion of the FlixTrain network

The new regulations allow travelers to reach around 200 additional cities by using combination tickets consisting of a FlixTrain and a regional train journey. With this strategic expansion, FlixTrain is doubling its accessibility compared to spring 2024. CEO André Schwämmlein emphasizes that the cooperation with DTV is crucial for FlixTrain's growth strategy. He emphasizes that the aim is to connect more and more cities in Germany, especially those outside the major metropolitan regions.

An important highlight of the expansion is that for the first time, cities in Bavaria are also part of the DTV offer. Travelers from cities such as Aschaffenburg, Schweinfurt and Würzburg can now easily access the FlixTrain network. In northern Germany, Kiel, Flensburg and Elmshorn are now also connected to the network. Other cities such as Ludwigshafen, Pforzheim and Speyer have also been integrated into the offer.

combination tickets and simplified booking

With the new combination tickets for FlixTrain and regional train journeys, traveling is even more attractive and easier. Booking tickets is straightforward as the regional transport section can be booked directly together with the FlixTrain connection.

This not only saves time, but also offers a price advantage compared to buying tickets individually. To offer travelers maximum convenience, there is no train connection restriction on the booked regional connections. The connecting ticket remains valid for the entire day, giving travelers flexibility when planning their trips.
