Without changes, the airline will not be able to return to profitability in the foreseeable future. Therefore, Thai Airways is facing a radical change.
With measures to reduce costs, the company wants to return to the black by 2023 at the latest. Among other things, the fleet will shrink from 100 to 58 aircraft - a total of 42 aircraft will be handed over. Employees also have to believe in it. The staff cover is to be reduced by a third. Overall, the airline is turning more than 400 screws to reduce costs.
In the current year Thai Airways has only achieved the equivalent of 290 million euros in sales - half of it with air freight. After the reopening of the travel market, the airline wants to make up some ground in the near future, especially with additional European flights, as the aviation portal Aero reports.
