Air Astana, the national airline of Kazakhstan, took delivery of the ninth Airbus A321LR in Almaty last Saturday.

This is another lease from Air Lease Corporation. The aircraft was delivered directly from the Airbus shipyard in Hamburg. The first machine of the type from the order was put into service in October 2019. The delivery of another Airbus A321LR is planned for this year, according to the carrier in a press release.

The Airbus A321LR is the "long range" version of the A321neo and is used by Air Astana in the international route network, for example on routes to Antalya, Bangkok, Dubai, Frankfurt, Istanbul, London, Phuket and Sharm el-Sheikh. The aircraft has a two-class configuration with 16 seats in business class and 150 seats in economy.

The Air Astana Group currently operates a fleet of 40 aircraft, including 32 Airbus A320/A321 Family aircraft, three Boeing 767s and five Embraer E2s. The average age of the Air Astana fleet is 3,8 years.
