In Innsbruck, a court had to deal with a tangible dispute that had occurred in front of the airport terminal in the spring. Smoking is prohibited in the area of the taxi lane, but one driver did not comply.

This apparently bothered another taxi driver massively, so that after a loud discussion it came about that the smoker received a proper “slap”. He is said to have fallen to the ground and suffered injuries.

The Tiroler Tageszeitung reports that during the trial the defense questioned the seriousness of the injuries and even accused the smoking taxi driver of acting. The judge sentenced the attacker to a conditional fine of 800 euros and compensation for pain and suffering, which must be paid to the victim, of 100 euros. The verdict is not yet legally binding.
