In the current 2023 summer flight schedule, 65 destinations are offered from Nuremberg by the local airlines. The focus is on the holiday countries around the Mediterranean and on the Canary Islands.
Mallorca, the top destination in the summer flight schedule, is served several times a day: in addition to Ryanair and Corendon Airlines, Eurowings and Condor have the most popular island in Franconia in their programme. The trendy Balearic island of Ibiza can also be reached non-stop. On the Spanish mainland, Alicante, Barcelona, Girona, Málaga, Seville and Valencia beckon. The Canary Islands are also there: Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Tenerife. In Portugal, the Irish airline serves Porto and Faro on the mainland, the evergreen island of Madeira and Ponta Delgada in the Azores.
Ryanair, represented with two aircraft based in Nuremberg, makes Italy fans cheer: Bari, Bologna, Cagliari, Lamezia Terme, Naples, Palermo, Venice - what more could you want? Another sunny destination is Zadar in Croatia.
Especially in these times, Turkey is dependent on tourism. Corendon Airlines' leisure airlines fly to Bodrum, Dalaman, Izmir and of course Antalya, but also fly to Adana, Ankara and Kayseri. Antalya is also served by SunExpress, Freebird, Pegasus and the two new airlines Southwind and Mavi Gök. The popular holiday region is not affected by the consequences of the earthquake. Travelers can reach the pulsating metropolis of Istanbul either via the new Istanbul Airport several times a day with Turkish Airlines or via the eastern Sabiha Gökçen Airport with Pegasus.
Aegean Airlines flies to Athens, other Greek destinations are Thessaloniki and the islands of Corfu, Kos, Rhodes and Crete (in addition to Heraklion also Chania) with various airlines. Larnaca is served on Cyprus. Wizz Air takes sun-seekers to the famous Golden Sands in Varna, Bulgaria. Tunisia is represented with the bathing destination Enfidha. With Corendon Airlines, AirCairo and SmartLynx, three airlines are taking off in the direction of the Egyptian diving paradise Hurghada and until the end of April Marsa Alam.
The number of non-stop destinations in Eastern Europe has increased significantly in recent years. Wizz Air has established itself as the leading airline here, but other airlines such as Ryanair also have a number of destinations in their repertoire. Tirana in Albania is a popular holiday destination that attracts with hospitality, good cuisine, low prices and palm-lined beaches. Tuzla in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sofia in Bulgaria are also in demand. Vilnius is served in Lithuania and Skopje in North Macedonia. Poland's Kraków will be there, as well as Belgrade in Serbia and Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca and Sibiu in Romania, and the Hungarian metropolis of Budapest.
