Advertising

Sarajevo Airport is no longer considered the base of the airline Wizz Air after Wizz Air ended this cooperation. However, the airport could not fully repair this loss, as reflected in the drop in passenger numbers.

The termination of the partnership between Wizz Air and Sarajevo Airport is not quite as hoped for as the airport might have expected. The airport has only seen a decline in passenger numbers for the past three months, as confirmed by the Ex Yu Aviation News portal. The airport was able to handle almost 134.000 passengers, which also corresponds to an increase compared to 2019, but these figures cannot keep up compared to the previous year, a decrease of 13,5 percent can be seen. In comparison, the general passenger numbers for the first half of the year: The airline was able to call 533.741 passengers, which represents a decrease of 4,5 percent in relation to the previous year.
