As part of the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) analysis by the international aviation association ACI (Airport Council International), Vienna Airport was voted the best airport in its category (25-40 million passengers in Europe). two other airports.

“The corona pandemic has presented aviation and Vienna Airport with extensive challenges. Our goal was to keep safety and quality at the location as high as possible despite all the circumstances and we are very pleased that travelers rate our efforts so positively. This was only possible thanks to the close and good cooperation of all location partners at Vienna Airport and I would therefore like to thank all employees of the authorities, airlines, service partners and Flughafen Wien AG and its subsidiaries for their always very committed work during these challenging times . We can all be proud of the award as the best airport in Europe,” says Julian Jäger, CEO of Flughafen Wien AG.

As part of the ASQ survey by ACI, over 3000 travelers rated these measures as very good in 2021, as did other services such as free WiFi throughout the terminal area, as well as the general sense of security and the efficiency of the processes at Vienna Airport. In general, overall passenger satisfaction in Vienna in 2021 is even higher than in 2019 (pre-crisis level). ASQ measures 34 important performance indicators such as travel processes, check-in, security, shopping & gastronomy, hygiene and overall satisfaction. Around 250 airports worldwide were compared. In 25, the award for the "Best Airport by Size & Region (40-2019 million passengers per year in Europe - based on the passenger numbers of 2021) went to Vienna Airport, as well as to Moscow Domodedovo and Zurich Airports - out of a total 11 airports in this category. In the “Best Hygiene Measures by Region (Europe)” category, Vienna Airport ranked in the gold class alongside 2021 others in 19 – almost 100 airports were compared here.
