Austria's largest airport, Vienna-Schwechat, welcomes the comeback announced by the low-cost airline Jet2 for September 2023. The carrier intends to connect Birmingham and Manchester with the federal capital of the Alpine Republic.

Julian Jäger, Member of the Management Board of Flughafen Wien AG: “With the comeback of Jet2.com at Vienna Airport, the north of England will be even more accessible in the future and I am pleased that we can expand our range of flights and destinations from Vienna to this region . Manchester and Birmingham are very attractive destinations, especially for city trips, characterized by British culture and embedded in the beautiful northern English environment. The new flight offers from September and November are also important for incoming tourism, because many British guests enjoy the Christmas season in Vienna and visit the romantic Christmas markets or the exciting cultural activities of the city".

Jet2.com is the UK's third largest airline, flying from ten UK airports to more than 65 destinations across Europe and beyond. Since the first flight in 2003, Jet2.com has expanded its fleet with the delivery of 34 brand new Boeing 737-800NG aircraft and the order of 60 new Airbus A321neo aircraft.
