Vienna-Schwechat Airport and American Express Austria enable Centurion credit card holders to use the VIP services offered by the airport free of charge. However, the offer is limited to cards issued in the Alpine republic.

American Express' Centurion program is considered a particularly exclusive credit card offer that, according to Amex, is only available by invitation after a minimum annual turnover that is not defined in more detail. Incidentally, the annual fee is not exactly cheap either, but this should be of minor importance for people who reach the minimum annual turnover.

The credit card provider and Austria's largest airport have agreed on a new cooperation, which is currently only reserved for holders of Centurion cards issued by American Express Austria. Put simply, this means that holders of these cards from other Amex countries, for example, cannot use the free VIP service.

"Whether vacation or business trip - travel is finally possible again without restrictions. We are very pleased to be able to offer our Centurion members an exclusive service package thanks to the partnership with Vienna Airport, which makes staying at the airport an experience and at the same time protects our most valuable resource today: time," says Anita Pruckner, Country Manager American Express Austria.

In concrete terms, Centurion owners can use the VIP terminal with all amenities and services at no extra charge. Exit and customs formalities, security checks, limousine boarding and so on can also be taken advantage of there. Amex Austria customers must book their VIP service in advance via the American Express Austria concierge hotline.

However, there is a catch that makes the offer rather unattractive for frequent flyers. The cooperation offer can be used a maximum of four times a year. You can take one companion and children up to the age of 12 with you. Other services (such as an extended stay in the VIP area) can be booked at Vienna Airport and paid for with the Centurion Card.

"Our VIP service attaches great importance to personal care, the highest quality and exceptional services - standards and values that we share with American Express. We are therefore very pleased about the cooperation,” says Michael Zach, Managing Director of Vienna Aircraft Handling GmbH. And managing director Christoph Schmidt adds: “Just as for Amex, exclusivity and discretion are a matter of course for us, from the concierge service for special requests to undisturbed meet & greets in private lounges. Together we can now make these high-quality offers available to Centurion members as well.”
