Vienna Airport and Austrian Airlines are planning to present a new era of their service program in cooperation with Airportr: Since April 12, Austrian Airlines passengers have been able to have their luggage transported to the airport in advance via the delivery service in order to save check-in waiting times. The test run runs until May 3rd, the first 200 bookings are free of charge as part of the test run.

Since April 12, Austrian Airlines passengers have been able to have their check-in luggage transported to Vienna Airport in advance. This should save passengers the lengthy waiting times in the check-in process in the future. The day before the flight, the check-in luggage is handed in at a desired location, picked up and taken to the airport so that travelers only have to concentrate on their flight. The respective passenger receives the piece of luggage again at the destination of the flight. The service can already be considered for collections in Vienna, 200 bookings are free of charge until May 3rd on the occasion of the test run. After that, the new service program should bring about a new age of compliance for passengers: depending on the number of pieces of luggage and the pick-up location, this service should be bookable from 26 euros.

"Innovative service for more travel comfort: Together with Austrian Airlines and Airportr, we make it easier for travelers to depart from Vienna Airport. Thanks to luggage collection from home, passengers can now start their well-deserved vacation even more relaxed without having to wait until they have to check in. In time for the summer season, we are expanding the service quality in Vienna even further,” says Mag. Julian Jäger, Member of the Management Board of Flughafen Wien AG.

“It is very important to us to make the entire itinerary as pleasant as possible for our guests. With the new luggage service, we offer our passengers another exclusive added value. Our guests should feel completely comfortable from the beginning to the end of their journey with Austrian Airlines,” explains Michael Trestl, CCO of Austrian Airlines.

“We are very pleased to be working with our partners Austrian Airlines and Vienna Airport on this project. So we can now also offer our range of services for comfortable luggage transport in Vienna and in good time before the travel-intensive summer - thanks to Airportr's technology, luggage check-in for Austrian Airlines departures can now be done from home," adds Randel Darby, CEO of Airportr.
