Numerous states are currently banning passenger flights from the United Kingdom. Now the British government is turning the tables and banning machines that have taken off in the United Arab Emirates. This primarily affects Emirates and Etihad Airways.

In recent months, the golf carriers have seen increasing demand, as the hubs in Dubai and Abu Dhabi are popular with people to travel to other countries. Concerned that further mutations of the coronavirus could be "flown" into the United Kingdom, the government is now blocking air traffic. Non-stop connections from Burundi and Rwanda are also banned.

The ban comes into effect on Friday. Emirates and Etihad Airways have already announced that they will completely suspend their offers. How long the British government's measure will last cannot be foreseen at the moment. The ban could well come in handy for Qatar Airways, as their planes are still allowed to fly to / from the UK.
