In cooperation with the Air Arabia Group, Armenia wants to bring a new carrier into the air. This will be launched under the name Fly Arna and will be positioned as a low-cost airline. Close cooperation with Air Arabia is planned.

The owners of this start-up are the state-owned Armenian National Interest Found, which holds the majority, as well as the Air Arabia Group and other private investors. The Fly Arna brand is said to be a shortened form of “Armenian National Airlines”.

The new company was founded in July 2021. The home base is to be Zvartnots International Airport (Yerevan). AOC and operating license have not yet been issued, but it was announced that the relevant applications will be submitted to the civil aviation authority of Armenia shortly. The first flight should be carried out in the coming year at the latest.
