Canadian aircraft manufacturer de Havilland announced at the Paris Air Show that it had sold two DHC-6-400s to Flybig. The Indian carrier also signed a letter of intent for up to ten DHC-6-300-Gs.

“Twin Otters are the perfect aircraft for India’s UDAN Regional Airport Development Program, which is part of the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) to improve underserved air routes and connect Tier 2 and Tier 3 communities. Our two -400 aircraft will help realize our Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of connecting India’s hinterland and we look forward to working with De Havilland Aircraft of Canada on possible future acquisitions of the new Classic 300-G,” said Chairman and Managing Director Sanjay Mandavia. “With the acquisition of this new aircraft, the DHC-6 Twin Otter Series 300-G, we look forward to announcing our plans to further expand our services to Northern India by offering connections to Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab. Our plans include adding Dehra Dun, Pithorgarh, Pantnagar, Hindon, Ludhiana and Bathinda to our network.”
