Münster/Osnabrück Airport (FMO) is starting the 2024/25 season with a wide-ranging winter flight schedule, presenting one of the most extensive connections in the winter months in recent years. The combination of sun-drenched destinations and increased flight frequencies underlines the importance of FMO as an important hub for holidaymakers in the region. With new and proven partners, including Sundair, Ryanair, Eurowings and Lufthansa, passengers are offered an attractive offer for their winter trips.
One of the most significant changes to the winter flight schedule is the decision by the German holiday airline Sundair to station an Airbus A319 aircraft at FMO. This 150-seat aircraft will be available from November to the end of April, including the Easter holidays, and will serve various attractive destinations. Sundair will create a solid base for winter holidaymakers with twice-weekly flights to the popular Canary Islands of Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura. The offer is supplemented by a once-weekly connection to Tenerife, which will be increased to two flights per week from mid-February.
In addition to the Canary Islands, holidaymakers can also look forward to a weekly connection to the Egyptian seaside resort of Hurghada, which has been established for years as a popular destination for sun-seekers in winter. Another special feature in the Sundair flight schedule is the connection to Beirut in Lebanon, which is also offered once a week and opens up an exciting destination for culturally interested travellers.
Ryanair returns: Mallorca and Alicante in focus
After a break of almost five years, the Irish low-cost airline Ryanair is returning to Münster/Osnabrück Airport in winter 2024/25 and is adding two attractive destinations to its program. Both the Balearic island of Mallorca and the Spanish mainland metropolis of Alicante will be served twice a week. This return of Ryanair strengthens the low-cost offering at FMO and offers passengers inexpensive connections to the two popular travel destinations.
Extended flight offers with Eurowings, SunExpress, Air Cairo and GP Aviation
The German airline Eurowings is also increasing its offering at FMO and will fly to Mallorca up to three times a week next winter. This gives holidaymakers greater flexibility when planning their trips, which is particularly beneficial for those who decide at short notice and for weekend travelers.
The Turkish airline SunExpress, which has been a permanent partner of Münster/Osnabrück Airport for many years, is continuing its successful connections to the Turkish Riviera. Depending on the season, several weekly flights are offered to Antalya, one of the most popular holiday destinations in the Mediterranean.
Air Cairo is expanding its winter flight schedule with another weekly connection to Hurghada. This additional service strengthens the connections to one of the most popular winter destinations for divers and sun worshippers in Egypt. GP Aviation is also contributing to the diversity of the winter flight schedule and is offering flights to the Kosovar city of Pristina three times a week, which is particularly important for the Kosovar diaspora living in Germany.
Lufthansa: Expansion of connections to Munich
Another highlight of the winter flight schedule is the increase in Lufthansa connections to Munich. The German airline will operate all four daily flights with larger Airbus A319/A320 aircraft. This measure significantly improves transfer options at Munich Airport, which is considered a central hub in the global Lufthansa network. Thanks to the optimized capacities, passengers from the Münster/Osnabrück region can comfortably travel all over the world.
An attractive offer for every type of traveler
The 2024/25 winter flight schedule at Münster/Osnabrück Airport impressively shows how diverse and attractive the travel options can be in the cold season. With a mix of classic sunny destinations, culturally interesting destinations and practical connections to international hubs, FMO offers the right offer for every type of traveler. The cooperation with established airlines such as Sundair, Ryanair, Eurowings, SunExpress, Air Cairo and Lufthansa underlines the airport's claim to assert itself as an important hub in the region and to offer its passengers the highest level of comfort and flexibility.
The growing variety and frequency of flight connections make Münster/Osnabrück Airport an attractive starting point for winter holidaymakers who want to escape the cold weather. With new and expanded destinations and improved connection options, FMO will remain an important address for travelers from the region in the future.
