In the past, the currywurst on board was a trademark of Air Berlin. Meanwhile, other carriers suspect that money can be made with it. After Tuifly, Eurowings also offers this product for purchase above the clouds.

The Lufthansa subsidiary explains in a media release that around 2022 portions of fries were sold on board in July 4.000 alone. Now they also want to offer currywurst at the end of the summer and logically earn money with it. The thing is not cheap, because a proud 7,50 euros have to be put on the table.

In the media statement, the company also emphasizes that it intends to serve the sandwiches in new packaging in the future. The material should be recyclable. The so-called Natureflex film should be made from renewable raw materials and be compostable. According to Eurowings, this will save several tons of plastic waste per year.
