The Ryanair Group has concluded a supply contract with the oil company Shell for 1.000 tonnes of SAF for the London-Stansted base.

This purchase follows the 2022 agreement between the two companies, which gives Ryanair unique access to purchase up to 360.000 tonnes of SAF from Shell between 2025 and 2030, which could save up to 900.000 tonnes of CO2 emissions, it said Irish low-cost airlines.

“Ryanair continues to be a leader in sustainable aviation. As demonstrated today at Stansted, we are making significant investments through the use of SAF, advanced engine technologies and electric ground handling equipment to decarbonise our operations and achieve our commitments of net zero carbon emissions by 2050 and 2031% lower CO25 emissions per passenger by 2. km to cause. Our partners at Shell and MAG are instrumental in achieving these goals and today's announcement of Ryanair's purchase of 1 000 tonnes of SAF from Shell is evidence of this. We will continue to work with our partners across the network to make every Ryanair flight as environmentally friendly as possible,” said Thomas Fowler, Director of Sustainability and Finance at Ryanair.
