Airbus and the German Aerospace Center (DLR) are expanding their collaboration in research into climate protection in aviation.

A corresponding agreement has already been signed. The future projects will focus in particular on measuring emissions from new types of aviation fuels through to hydrogen, as well as understanding the effect of emissions on the atmosphere along with improving climate models, informs DLR.

“We at Airbus are very pleased to be working with DLR as one of the world's leading research institutions when it comes to measuring and analyzing emissions in flight operations. We benefit from this scientific expertise when it comes to developing new concepts and further optimizing existing aircraft, ”said Nicole Dreyer-Langlet, VP Research & Technology Representative Germany at Airbus. “Climate protection in air traffic is a top priority for Airbus. The more precise atmosphere and climate models are, the better we can develop and optimize. Partnerships with universities and research institutions such as DLR play a key role. "
