Frankfurt Airport was able to significantly increase the number of passengers in November: around 2,9 million people flew via FRA. Compared to the very weak comparable month of the previous year, this corresponds to an increase of 341,5 percent.
The continued demand for travel within Europe and the opening of the United States' borders are pulling the airport further out of the crisis, with almost three million people being handled. Compared to the pre-pandemic month of November 2019, however, there was a decrease of 43 percent, as the airport reports. In total, the number of passengers in Frankfurt up to November this year was around 22,1 million, an increase of 23,6 percent compared to the same period in 2020 and a decrease of 66,4 percent compared to 2019.
The cargo volume recorded a slight decrease of 1,2 percent to 192.298 tons for the first time this year (plus 3,0 percent compared to November 2019). The number of flight movements, on the other hand, rose by 125,6 percent to 28.882 take-offs and landings. The total of the maximum take-off weights increased by 72,9 percent to around 1,8 million tons (compared to November 2020 in each case).
For December there are signs of a weaker passenger development due to the rising corona incidence values and the associated travel restrictions
