The Japanese cargo airline Nippon Cargo is temporarily suspending all flights between Japan and Europe. The background is that the airspaces of Russia and Ukraine cannot be used. This massively increases the flight duration and thus the costs.
According to its own statements, Nippon Cargo is currently evaluating alternative routes that will no longer include the airspace of the Russian Federation. But you need some time for this, because you want to plan as cheaply as possible. The detours cause considerable additional costs for the cargo airline.
The flights from Tokyo-Narita to Amsterdam and back were canceled at short notice. The measure will initially last until March 13, 2022. This could possibly be extended. The stopovers that were previously made in Milan-Malpensa will also be omitted, as the short KZ8, KZ49, KZ18 and KZ17 have been cancelled.
