The holiday airline Condor will use an Airbus A27-2022 operated by Smartlynx Malta from 330 June 300. This bears the registration 9H-SMD and will fly from Frankfurt am Main towards the USA and Canada.

According to the current planning status, Smartlynx Malta will become Condor's only wet lease partner on long-haul routes. The rented widebody will serve the destinations New York JFK, Whitehorse and from November 2, 2022 also Toronto from Frankfurt. The cooperation between the two airlines is therefore long-term.

From autumn 2022, Condor will gradually take delivery of a total of 16 new Airbus A330neo. These will replace the aging Boeing 767-300. Four A330-200s, which were previously in use for Etihad, were also organized in-house for the transition. A Condor spokeswoman: "Therefore, four Airbus A330-200 are already in use, which have the Condor stripes on the tail unit. In order to prevent any bottlenecks during the transition period and so that Condor can cover the prevailing demand, from 27.06. temporarily an additional Airbus A330-300 of the seasonal Condor partner airline Smartlynx is used on long-haul routes from Frankfurt".

In the 2022 summer flight schedule, Condor is relying on wet lease services from other airlines in the route network. Put simply, this means that the flights are operated by another airline in the name and on the account of the holiday airline. "Smartlynx is the only wet lease partner on long-haul routes. Bulgaria Air is already used on short- and medium-haul routes in Stuttgart and Heston Airlines in Munich," says the Condor media officer.

What about Wamos Air from Spain?

  • Christian, 31. July 2022 @ 00: 01

The statement by Condor's media officer is probably not entirely true.
An Airbus (EC-NCK) from Wamos Air is currently flying long-haul routes (mostly Punta Cana) from Frankfurt and a second Airbus (EC-NBN) is also occasionally in use (mostly Cancun).
We flew back from Punta Cana with Condor on Tuesday, machine and crew were from Wamos Air plus two pursers from Condor. The Airbus A330 used was significantly better equipped than the Condor A330 on the outbound flight. The interior of these leased machines leaves a lot to be desired!!

Why can't you find a seating plan for this plane

  • Thomas, 2. December 2022 @ 15: 53

I don't think I want to bring in so much transparency here. You can find the seating plan at Condor under this link:

An old Airbus A300 flies for Condor. No entertainment no screens! Seats “fixed” with tape. No crew announcements in German! Just a low cost airline. Paid Condor and got shit.
