The Darmstadt Regional Council responsible for Frankfurt am Main Airport wants to reassess the noise situation. For this purpose, municipalities and citizens are called upon to submit their opinions and suggestions. The deadline is October 15, 2021.

The officers wrote a 250 A4-page report. He came to the conclusion that the noise issue had to be tackled anew. To this end, one wants to involve both the neighboring communities and the citizens. The aim is to take effective protective measures, but also to reduce the emissions that arise in the course of operating Germany's largest airport.

Although flight operations are currently significantly reduced due to the corona pandemic, the Darmstadt Regional Council expects that there will be a recovery in a few years and that the slots will then be completely exhausted when Terminal 3 goes into operation.
