The largest airport in Germany, Frankfurt am Main, recorded an 2021 percent decrease to 84,4 passengers in February 681.845. The first two months of the current year combined are 82,6 percent below the same period of the previous year.

The freight volume rose by 21,7 percent to 180.725 tons. According to Fraport, the best monthly cargo result ever was achieved. Aircraft movements fell by 69 percent to 11.122 take-offs and landings, while the cumulative maximum take-off weights (MTOWs) fell by 56,7 percent to 961.684 tonnes compared to the previous year.

The airports in Fraport's international portfolio continued to report mixed results in February 2021, with traffic performance largely dependent on the pandemic situation in the respective region. All airports of the Fraport Group worldwide - with the exception of Xi'an in China - recorded a decrease in traffic compared to February 2020.

Traffic at Peru's Lima Airport (LIM) fell by 83,9 percent to 320.850 travelers.

The total traffic figures for the 14 Greek regional airports fell by 2021 percent to 84,1 passengers in February 93.813. On the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, the twin star airports Burgas (BOJ) and Varna (VAR) together took 16.914 passengers, a decrease of 77,6 percent compared to the previous year - one year. Traffic at Antalya Airport (AYT) in Turkey shrank by 64,8 percent to 292.690 passengers. Pulkovo Airport (LED) in St. Petersburg, Russia welcomed 716.739 passengers, a decrease of 38,9 percent. The only airport in the group that saw traffic growth was Xi'an Airport (XIY) in China. Traffic at XIY recovered significantly in the reporting month and increased compared to February 2020 - when China was already badly hit by the Covid 19 pandemic - by 272,2 percent to over 1,7 million passengers.
