The Portuguese airline Sata is reacting to the fact that the German government has again classified the Azores as a so-called "risk area". The carrier announced that all flights from Frankfurt will be canceled up to and including June 30, 2021.
According to the current planning status, the first non-stop flight to Ponta Delgada is scheduled to take place on July 1, 2021. Shortly before Easter, the Azores and the Spanish Balearic Islands were removed from the “risk list”. Since Sunday, the state-run Robert Koch Institute has once again viewed the islands belonging to Portugal as a risk area. This results in an obligation to quarantine when returning to the Federal Republic.
