With a bid totaling 7,25 billion euros, Fraport AG and its partner company TAV Airports Holding won the bid for the new concession to operate the Turkish airport in Antalya.
Subject to the approval of the competition authority and the responsible Turkish airport authority, the signing of the new concession agreement is expected to take place in the first quarter of 2022. The concession covers the operation of the terminals and other land-based infrastructure, including retail areas, parking management and passenger controls. The operational period of operation under the new contract will begin at the beginning of 2027, after the existing license has expired, and will last 25 years. With the contract, the operator consortium undertakes to implement various infrastructure projects at the airport before the start of operations. These include the expansion of Terminal 2 and the inland terminal as well as the creation of new VIP areas.
"We won the bidding process with a convincing bid, but also thanks to our many years of success in the operation and further development of Antalya Airport into one of the world's leading tourist hubs," says the CEO of Fraport AG, Stefan Schulte. "Together with our partner TAV, we want to continue our commitment at Antalya Airport in the areas of customer service, operational excellence and innovation in the coming decades." Fraport AG has been active in Antalya for more than two decades.
