Fraport AG, operator of several airports worldwide, recorded significant growth in the first half of 2024. Passenger numbers rose by 7,2 percent to 74,1 million, leading to a 13,0 percent increase in revenue to EUR 2.038,8 million. Operating profit (EBITDA) grew by 17,8 percent to EUR 567,1 million, while consolidated profit increased by 89,2 percent to EUR 160,8 million.

Fraport CEO Dr. Stefan Schulte explained that international business, especially the airports in Greece and Lima, contributed significantly to growth. Despite a slowdown in growth in Frankfurt in the second quarter, influenced by high site-specific costs and aircraft delivery delays, the company remains optimistic. The airports in Antalya and Lima as well as the 14 Greek airports recorded new passenger records.

For the full year 2024, Fraport has clarified its forecasts and expects passenger volume in Frankfurt to be in the lower half of the previously forecast range of 61 to 65 million. EBITDA is expected to be between 1.260 and 1.360 million euros, and the consolidated result between 435 and 530 million euros.
