At the airport operator Fraport, the operating business remains far below the previous year's figures due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This emerges from the traffic figures presented today by the group, which operates, among other things, Frankfurt Airport. In November the airport counted 656.420 passengers, a decrease of 87 percent compared to the same month last year. In the first eleven months of this year, the number of passengers fell by 72,8 percent - the beginning of the year in particular still plays a role here, which was not yet affected by the pandemic for travel.

Things are looking up in Fraport's freight division at Frankfurt Airport: “By contrast, cargo volumes increased for the second month in a row to 194.619 tons. This corresponds to an increase of 4,3 percent compared to the same month last year ”, according to the company. The international activities of the company suffering, however, continue to suffer from the consequences of the pandemic. Fraport's international airports also recorded stronger to strong declines in traffic figures.
