The Peruvian airport operating company LAP, which has belonged to the Fraport Group since 2001, has concluded a financing agreement for 1,25 billion US dollars.

This serves to finance ongoing infrastructure and expansion measures at the international airport "Jorge Chávez" in Peru's capital Lima, as Fraport announced in a press release. The financing will be provided by a total of seven international financial institutions.

The expansion of Lima Airport is not only of future-oriented importance for the location itself and the country of Peru, but also plays an important role as a hub airport within the international air traffic network for all of South America. With the new financing, the funds are now available for further construction measures. The funds will also be used to repay a $450 million loan. The construction measures for the airside expansion of the airport have now been completed, so that the new infrastructure facilities can soon be handed over to the responsible Peruvian authorities, the statement said.

For the construction of the new passenger terminal, which is scheduled to go into operation by early 2025, LAP has commissioned the "Inti Punku" consortium - a joint venture between the Spanish construction and real estate company Sacyr and the Peruvian partner Cumbra.
