The C160 Transall military aircraft has become a rare guest at European airports. The German Air Force will put the transport aircraft out of service by the end of the year. The successor is the Airbus A400M.
France actually wanted to take this step in 2018, but due to delays in delivery of the A400M model, it was decided to extend the operating time. How long the French armed forces will continue to rely on the C160 Transall is still open. But it won't be that long.
The 64-GZ of the French Air Force was surprisingly a guest at Luqa Airport (Malta). It is a C160G Gabriel that was spotted on Friday on Apron 9. The 64-GZ is primarily used for electronic reconnaissance.
