Emirates Airlines is building a new training center for around 135 million US dollars, in which pilots of the Airbus A350 and Boeing 777X models will receive basic and advanced training. The approximately 5.800 square meter new building is scheduled to go into operation in March 2023.
The new building will be built in close proximity to an existing Emirates training centre. This should ensure the best possible integration with all other pilot training units. In the future, the pilot students in the training module will be able to set up and configure the cockpit environment with devices tailored to their needs and upload the data to the simulator before the start of the training. This innovative and unique concept is intended to reduce the preparation time of the trainees in order to be able to optimally utilize the training unit in the simulator.
“This $135 million investment in the construction of a new center for our pilot training will ensure Emirates is ready to begin pilot training ahead of the delivery of our new fleet of aircraft from 2024. The building will be equipped with the latest, most technologically advanced simulators to offer pilots the best training. The facility will use solar energy to reduce energy consumption,” said Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group.
The new center will include, among other things, 17 full-flight simulators. The annual capacity is given by the golf carrier as around 130.000 training hours per year. In line with the scheduled delivery of the first Emirates Airbus A350 aircraft, the new facility will begin training the first A2024 pilots in June 350.
In addition to modern flight crew training facilities, Emirates offers a range of training and development programs for its employees and other aviation professionals. These include the Emirates Flight Training Academy for cadets at the Dubai location, the Emirates Aviation University, the Emirates Cabin Crew Training Center and numerous programs specially developed for different groups of employees.
