The AUA Boeing 14-777 with the registration OE-LPD, which is comparatively young at the age of 200, will probably be transferred to long-time storage in Teruel, Spain, for one year. There the long-haul jet will turn into various Lufthansa planes, including Airbus A340-600, companions.

A spokeswoman for Austrian Airlines confirmed that the machine, which was taken over in 2007, is to be parked at the Spanish airport for about a year. The display is already planned for Tuesday around 8:00 a.m. The exact date has not yet been set, because: “Our captain will make the final decision tomorrow morning, depending on the weather. Because in Teruel only a visual approach is possible, ”the company told Aviation Direct.

The Austrian Airlines Boeing 777 sub-fleet currently consists of six units with an average age of 20,1 years. These are the following machines:

  • OE LPC (MSN: 29313)
  • OE LPD (MSN: 35960)
  • OE-LPE (MSN: 27607)
  • OE LPF (MSN: 28692)
