The new Flybe is slowly taking shape, because the DHC Dash 8-400 with the registration G-JECX received the new color scheme in Maastricht, the Netherlands. It is not the one that was taken over by Austrian Airlines.
The sale of flight tickets has not yet started, but initiators have heard that it will not be long. The first machine to be painted in the new livery, which differs greatly from the "old Flybe", is the G-JECX. This was originally delivered to Flybe in 2007 and is owned by the lessor Nordic Aviation Capital.
For some time it was suspected that the G-GLXC, which until recently had worn the base coat of the former operator Austrian Airlines, would be the first aircraft of the new Flybe. This is not the case, however, because the former OE-LGA was only used during the certification process to obtain the AOC and operating license. However, this Dash 8-400 was never flown commercially for the new Flybe.
The former OE-LGA has now found a new home with the Canadian PAL Airlines. There the turboprop aircraft has the registration C-GXNL. This Dash 8-400 was handed over in September 2021.
