“Haferkater”, another restaurant, opened on March 26, 2024 in the public area of Terminal 1 at Vienna-Schwechat Airport. The business specializes in Berlin specialties and is operated by Lagardère Travel Retail Austria.
“Even more culinary selection at the airport: I am very pleased that we are the location for the first international expansion of the start-up Haferkater. Passengers, guests and employees receive even more exclusive brand offerings at the location and healthy snacks and meals. With the new store, we are also further expanding the good cooperation with our long-standing catering partner Lagardére Travel Retail,” explains Julian Jäger, CEO of Flughafen Wien AG.
The new Haferkater store is located in the public area of the departure hall in Terminal 1, right next to the check-in area. Travelers have the opportunity to enjoy Oatkater's favorite dish in the cozy café atmosphere on site or to take it with them. Purely vegetarian or vegan dishes are offered, such as the popular porridge creations “Powerkater” with dates, linseeds and apples, “Wildbeerkater” with compote and chocolate drops or the protein-filled “Proteinkater”. The best way to start the day and fortify yourself in between is with a cup of organic specialty coffee and the porridge variations. Great importance is placed on sustainability: Haferkater only uses compostable packaging and promotes reusable packaging and the majority of the range is organic products.
