KLM is anything but happy that fees at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol are to be increased by 40 percent within the next three years. Now the parent company is also threatening legal action.

It is believed that the price increase is “unreasonable, inappropriate and unacceptable” even in the face of the corona crisis. Among other things, one also points out that the airlines are badly shaken and have to cope with the loss of income largely on their own. Amsterdam Airport would simply pass this on to the airlines.

Air France-KLM also argues that the Dutch aviation law prohibits the “exploitation of monopoly positions”. If the airport does not give in, they will go to court. The competitor Easyjet has already indicated support. At Schiphol Airport, one sees the situation completely differently and wants to stick to the cost increase.
