The vaccination campaigns are progressing and with it the pressure to give the vaccinated more freedom again. In Lower Saxony and Baden-Württemberg, fully immunized citizens who return from a high-risk or high-risk area are no longer obliged to quarantine.

This means that the first reliefs come into force. These decisions would be based on a study by the Robert Koch Institute, as reported by reisevor9.de. According to this, the risk of virus transmission by fully vaccinated people is greatly reduced by the 15th day after the second vaccination at the latest. Thus, there are sufficient factual justifications.

Accordingly, it is assumed that the second vaccine has been administered at least 15 days beforehand. In addition, the previously visited region cannot be a virus variant area. More and more federal states are now following these examples. In Rhineland-Palatinate, the exception for fully vaccinated people has been in force since April 11th. In North Rhine-Westphalia, returnees no longer have to be quarantined at all - regardless of whether they have been vaccinated.
