German Airways announces legal action against Green Airlines

The German airline German Airways terminated the cooperation with the ticket seller Green Airlines on Monday. However, this does not prevent the criticized provider from continuing to sell tickets under German Airways flight numbers. This now has consequences, because the Zeitfracht subsidiary has announced legal action.

German Airways makes it clear to Aviation Direct that they will no longer fly for Green Airlines. A spokesman said: "German Airways terminated the contract with Green Airlines on Monday and no longer flies on behalf of Green Airlines from Cologne via Paderborn to Sylt".

But Green Airlines is still selling tickets with flight numbers from German Airways on Tuesday morning. The Zeitfracht subsidiary was apparently not aware of this, because they thanked for the corresponding hint in the query response. A spokesman said: “We were astonished to note that these flights will be advertised on the Green Airlines website on Tuesday. We will take all legal steps to prevent this. The business relationship between German Airways and Green Airlines has ended ”.

Selling airline tickets without knowing the operating carrier seems to be part of the business model at Green Airlines. Initially, Air Alsie flight numbers were used, but never signed a contract with them. Even at a time when the Boeing 737-300 had long since withdrawn, tickets were sold with Alk Air as the “operating carrier”. Just Us Air came to the "kiss on the hand" without a contract that tickets for "phantom flights" were sold under their flight numbers.
