German Airways cooperates with Lufthansa Aviation Training

In the future, Lufthansa Aviation Training and the airline German Airways will work together at the Rostock-Laage location in the area of training young pilots. German Airways is thus covering the need for newly trained cockpit personnel for the fleet, which will consist of eight Embraer E190s by the end of the year, exclusively through the renowned German flight school.

Both partners are already working closely and intensively at LAT's Rostock-Laage Airport training location. The airport in northern Germany has belonged to the Zeitfracht Group since the beginning of the year, along with German Airways. It offers the prospective pilots optimal training conditions, from which the next generation of German Airways cockpits should also benefit. German Airways also trains all of its fully qualified cockpit teams almost exclusively at Rostock-Laage Airport.

With the agreement, the excellent training quality of future captains and first officers at the German airline is permanently ensured. German Airways leases its 100-seat aircraft to the large and well-known European airlines under what is known as a wet lease and also takes on charter orders as required, for example for sports teams at tournaments.

“With Lufthansa Aviation Training we have definitely made the best choice for the training of our pilots. We are very convinced of the extremely high quality of training at LAT and we are glad that we can now work together in this field. Our young pilots are in the very best hands there,” explains Maren Wolters, Managing Director of German Airways.
