Germany hopes for a “very good” summer

"The summer could be quite good in Germany," said Berlin virologist Christian Drosten recently. In general, German politicians and virologists are striking a more optimistic tone with regard to the upcoming second "corona summer".

Federal Minister of Economics Peter Altmaier also believes that hotels will reopen in summer. Health Minister Jens Spahn followed this statement with the addition that “traveling within the EU will probably not depend on a vaccination”. Even with the tests, you will be able to move well across Europe, like Reisevor9.de reported. Nevertheless: He advises against traveling to other continents.

The chief virologist at the Berlin Charité, Christian Drosten, has high hopes for a smooth summer. "Summer can be quite good in Germany," says Drosten on ZDF. When asked about vacation and outdoor dining, he explained that a lot will be allowed outside again. "I think that in June we will see effects that can be ascribed to the vaccination for the first time."

But one shouldn't fall into “total euphoria”. Because: "The disease will not have disappeared in autumn." Unvaccinated people could continue to be infected and fall ill, but there will no longer be an uncontrolled spread.
